The principle is simple: each time you stop, the vehicle's engine switches off automatically.
A battery for a START&STOP vehicle must therefore be able to withstand numerous stops, supply the electrical consumers of new-generation vehicles and support rapid recharging.
Conventional starter batteries are not suited to meeting these new requirements.

Anatomy of AGM technology:
The lead plates are separated by a fibreglass material that absorbs and retains sulphuric acid.
The battery is completely sealed and contains no liquid acid.
The reduced distance between the lead plates and the contact surface between the lead and the acid facilitate the passage of current and make the battery more resistant to cycling and vibration.
